No longer an issue lol, they patched the game so the wingpack adopts your hotkeyed movement keys.

They fixed it..

Yeah, I enjoyed it right up until I got to the world tree, unlocked the wing pack, then found out that its controls are hard coded and you can't change them. I remap my movement keys because I can't hit W to move forward due to my arthritis, so my remapped movement keys overwrite the wing pack commands and i can't use it.

And the kicker? YOU CAN'T REMAP WING PACK CONTROL KEYS.

Pocket Pair NEEDS to allow us to remap those..

yeah, I had issues. IRL issues involving overexerting myself when trying to fix the bathtub faucet and nearly dislocating my shoulder trying to wrench off a corroded elbow joint. I SHOULD have it done Tuesday.

I only have like half a page and edits to do, and I plan on doing it Monday..

I WILL have it done before 1.0 drops. I only have like 2 pages plus edits to go..

A friend gifted me Palworld.

I am weak.

After having to delete 3 pages, Palworld kinda sucked me in. I'm on page 15, and I may just call it early and release the chapter as is and move the scene I had to delete for rewrite into the next chapter..

I had a bit of a setback and had to rewrite a scene because I am dumb and wrote like 3 pages before realizing it was all based on a massive continuity error.

I'm about 4 pages from finishing if I think this scene flows the way it does so I hope to have this out the proverbial soon.

Though I won't be working on it over the weekend due to FF14 patch and having to cut down a bunch of honeysuckle trees behind the house before they overgrow the roof..

Better. Anemia isn't as bad so I've been able to do actual stuff without passing out from exhaustion. I AM writing, it's jut been slow going because I had to catch up on all the work I'd had to put off because of the anemia. But hoping things get back to normal soon..

It's not been a good couple of weeks.

One of my cats, Ferb, passed away two days ago. He was sick a long time, and I spent the last few weeks taking care of him. He was terminal, so his passing didn't take me by surprise. But no matter how prepared you think you are to say goodbye, you never really are..

And now you understand why they're so confused. My doc's theory is that the ulcer bleeds slowly enough that the blood is effectively digested, and that it hasn't been an issue until now because I lost blood the conventional way thanks to the fact that for most of my life, my nose will bleed if I so much as touch it. I commonly have at least two nosebleeds a day, and this has gone on for most of my life.

So, my doc's theory is that the ulcer is a slow bleed that only causes anemia if I lose too much blood other ways.

It sounds plausible enough..

There's no medical reason they can find why I'm anemic, which is the problem.

Iron fine, all the other things needed for red blood cell production fine.

That's why they think I have a slow bleeding ulcer somewhere in my digestive tract..

still dealing with the aftermath of the hospital stay. Writing, and everything else, has been slow. The anemia is still there, to the point I get exhausted just walking up the stairs. Luckily my job is sitting at a desk, but I get wiped out just trying to hold a daily routine.

If this is what it feels like to be elderly, then mad props to the elderly for managing to live through this every day..

I'm more or less back to normal, shoulder's healed enough for me to function but it's not 100%. I have a ton of tests and procedures scheduled over the next 2 months so they can find out why I'm anemic. First up is a colonoscopy and something called an EGD which is the same concept from the other direction to check my esophagus and stomach to look for ulcers or signs of chronic bleeding.

Either I'm bleeding somewhere or there's something wrong with my bone marrow, keeping it from producing red blood cells, and they're looking for possible bleeding first..

Well.

Here's a cautionary tale for everyone: take NOTHING for granted.

They gave me a cortisone shot for my shoulder.

It LITERALLY almost killed me. I had a reaction to the shot that made me critically dehydrate and crash my blood pressure, and I almost died laying on my bathroom floor. Had I not had the foresight to take my phone in there with me, had I not called an ambulance, I'd be dead.

And I am in no way exaggerating.

I'm just fine now, they flushed the cortisone out of my system, and now I'm on a program of careful observation of my BP, since I'm still having issues with it dropping whenever I stand up.

So, that was my week..

dealing with old age right now. No sooner than I get my leg back my shoulder goes out lol. Rotator cuff inflammation. If you've never had it imagine someone drives an acid coated nail into your shoulder.

It's about like that.

Degenerative which means just wear and tear caught up to me.

I managed about 4 pages on Revelation before the shoulder sidelined me, they have me on steroids that make it possible for me to type. Can't really use a mouse but I can type, so i'm back to writing..

I should have Revelation15 done by Friday. Doing the last scene now, then edits and spell check before it's released..

Bills are paid, emergency averted, second job is done, so I'm back to writing.

I'll do my best to get a chapter out in the next few weeks. I'm halfway through the next Revelation, am in a position to start the next chapter of Familiar, and can also start work on the next CO. I'm focusing on Revelation, and holding the other two in reserve for if I get writers block (which does happen from time to time).

Thanks everyone for sticking it out through this yearlong drought. First I was in too much pain to write, then an emergency trip to the vet compounded with my car needing $2500 in repairs destroyed my finances. But we're over it, moving on, and hopefully things go back to normal.

Every book and short story on the forums were on the list of works pirated by Anthropic to train its AI. Even the one chapter test files were on that list.

I have submitted my info to join the class action lawsuit against them.

I'm not holding my breath, but if I manage to join the class action, I may be looking at a considerable settlement. If I read the information right, I'll be eligible for $3,000 PER PIRATED WORK.

And think about how many works I've put on this forum.

So, in a bit of cosmic irony, I very well end up getting paid for my work after all..

I'm in a regular ankle brace now. I haven't been replying because I had $4,000 in emergency car/vet bills hit me in the span of three weeks and I'm currently working 2 jobs to try to pay that debt off.

So new chapter posts will be delayed until I'm back on solid financial footing and can quit the second job..
